Is performing ablution multiple times in an inverted sequence valid?
Chapter on the Obligation of Purification
Al-Mughni
Book of Purification
Primary text
If a person performs ablution in an inverted sequence four times, the ablution is valid. For each instance, the washing of one limb is counted, provided the actions are performed closely together.
Supporting text
The position of Al-Shafi'i aligns with the established ruling regarding sequential washing. If one washes all limbs simultaneously, the ablution is invalid except for the washing of the face, due to the lack of sequence.
