Must a person with a condition causing intermittent anal discharge perform ablution?
Chapter on What Nullifies Purification
Al-Mughni
Book of Purification
Primary text
If an individual afflicted with a condition that causes their posterior to intermittently show moisture is certain that discharge will appear with it, ablution (Wudu) is obligatory. If the individual is not certain that discharge will occur, there is nothing incumbent upon them. This ruling applies specifically to moisture that separates from the source, as it is something exiting and connected, thus invalidating ablution like water exiting upon stones. The basis for distinction is the separation of the substance.
