It is recommended to lean on the left leg and keep the right leg upright while sitting, as this facilitates the exit of waste. One should not remain seated longer than necessary, as prolonged sitting is harmful and may cause hemorrhoids or liver damage, or inconvenience those waiting.

It is recommended to cover the head, as narrated from Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, and because this is a situation where the private parts are uncovered, requiring modesty. It is also recommended to wear footwear to prevent the feet from becoming impure.
