What is recommended regarding residual moisture after Istinja?

It is recommended to sprinkle water on one's private parts and trousers to dispel obsessive doubts (waswas) concerning residual moisture.
Supporting text
When Imam Ahmad was asked about doubts of impurity after performing ablution and Istibra' (seeking final depletion of urine), he advised sprinkling water on the private parts without paying attention to the doubt, as this would dispel it, supported by a weak hadith stating that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was commanded by Jibril to sprinkle water after ablution (intidha).
