Is the report of impurity from a child, infidel, or major sinner considered binding?

The report of water's impurity from a child, an infidel (Kafir), or a known major sinner (Fasiq) is not obligatory to accept. This is because such individuals do not qualify as reliable witnesses (Ahl al-Shahadah) nor trustworthy narrators of religious reports, similar to the ruling for a child or an insane person.
