Is ritual ablution (Ghusl) required if seminal fluid (Mani) exits the vagina after intercourse without penetration or after penetration followed by washing?
Chapter on What Necessitates Ghusl
Al-Mughni
Book of Purification
Primary text
Ritual purification (Ghusl) is not obligatory if the husband penetrates his wife externally, and his fluid reaches her vagina then exits, or if he penetrates her, she washes, and then the man's fluid exits her vagina. This view is held by Qatadah, Al-Awza'i, and Ishaq. The basis for this is that the expelled fluid is not considered her own seminal fluid, likening it to non-seminal discharge.
Supporting text
Al-Hasan stated that Ghusl is required because seminal fluid exited, making it analogous to the woman's own discharge. This view is rejected as secondary because the expelled fluid is not his seminal fluid in that context.
