What is the ruling on blood seen by a female under nine years old?

Chapter on Menstruation

Primary text

If a female sees blood before the age of nine, it is deemed corrupted blood (*dam fasaad*) in all cases because it cannot validly be menstruation. Imam Ahmad, reported by Al-Maymuni, stated that blood seen by a ten-year-old is not menstruation. Based on this, nine and ten are not considered definitive ages for menstruation to commence.

Supporting text

The Judge stated that based on the preceding ruling, the first time menstruation can validly occur must be twelve years, as this is the age when seminal emission is valid for a male; however, the former view is sounder.
