Primary text
The ruling concerning the saliva (su'r) of an animal regarding purity and impurity is the same as the ruling concerning its skin, hair, sweat, and tears. Impurity is established in the area where contact occurs with the animal's saliva and body. If the animal itself is pure, its saliva is pure; if the animal is impure, its saliva is impure.
