Primary text

It is recommended to bury what has been trimmed from the nails or removed from the hair. This practice is supported by the narration from Mil bint Musharrih al-Ash'ariyyah, who saw her father burying his nails and stating that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did the same. Furthermore, Ibn Jurayj narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) liked to bury blood. Imam Ahmad stated that a man taking from his hair or nails should bury them, citing that Ibn Umar used to bury them.

Supporting text

A narration states that the Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded the burying of hair and nails, saying, 'So that the sorcerers of Adam's descendants do not play with them.'
