Primary text
If a liquid falls into water and does not change the water's characteristics (due to conformity), this situation is considered highly unlikely. The appearance suggests that some separation of characteristic must occur, thus the change must be considered based on the emergence of that characteristic. If the characteristic does not appear, the ruling relies on other substances whose characteristic is evident upon the water, similar to the case of a master who is assaulted but the injury does not reach the level of 'Muwadihah' (a specific degree of facial wound); the slave's value is assessed as if he were a mere slave.
