Primary text
If the egg is not fully formed, some scholars hold that if its shell is white, the egg is pure. If its shell has not whitened, the egg is impure because it lacks a strong protective barrier. Ibn Aqil preferred the view that it is never impure because the egg possesses a thin outer layer like skin, which prevents impurity from thoroughly penetrating it, unlike solidified fat where a dead mouse might cause contamination.
