What is the ruling on removing a splint (Jabeera) after wiping over it during ablution?

Removing the splint after wiping over it is treated the same as removing the turban after wiping over it. However, if the wiping was done during a major ablution (ghusl) that covers the entire body, there is no necessity to repeat the ghusl or the ablution because the requirements of sequence (tartib) and immediacy (muwalat) are waived in such a case.
