What is the ruling on washing the remaining part of the arm if the hand is amputated above the elbow joint?
Chapter on the Obligation of Purification

Book of Purification
Primary text
If the hand is amputated above the elbow joint, ablution washing is waived because its place is gone. If the hand is amputated from the elbow joint, the bone which is the end of the upper arm must be washed, because washing the two bones where the forearm and upper arm meet is obligatory. Thus, if one is removed, the other must be washed. If the amputation is below the elbow, the remaining part of the obligatory washing area must be washed.
