Primary text
When bleeding occurs irregularly over three months with durations of seven days, six days, and five days, the ruling is based on the shortest duration, which is five days, establishing it as the menses (hayd). Any amount exceeding five days in those respective months is not considered menses unless that higher duration is repeated consistently. If in the fourth month, the bleeding reaches six days or more, then six days becomes the established menses due to its repetition three times. The same ruling applies in the seventh month if it is repeated three times.
