What is the status of a gray hair grown while adhering to Islam?

A gray hair that develops while a person is adhering to Islam serves as a light (*nur*) for that individual on the Day of Resurrection. This is stated explicitly by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, as reported by Tariq ibn Habib.
