Upon entering, one should place the left foot first and say, 'In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil male and female devils,' and 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from impurity, the impure, the wicked, the corrupting, accursed Satan,' as narrated from Ali. Upon exiting, one should say, 'Ghufranaka (Your forgiveness), praise be to Allah who removed harm from me and granted me well-being.'
