Is the use of utensils belonging to the People of the Book disliked (Makruh)?
Chapter on Utensils
Al-Mughni
Book of Purification
Primary text
There are two narrations concerning the dislike of using their utensils. The primary view is that it is not disliked, based upon the permissibility of their food and the actions mentioned above. However, a second view holds that it is disliked based on the command given to Abu Tha'labah al-Kushani: "If you find others [than their utensils], do not eat in them, but if you find nothing else, then wash them and eat in them." The basis for dislike is that they are generally not scrupulous regarding impurity, meaning their utensils are likely to have come into contact with impure items through their food.
Supporting text
The lesser ruling regarding prohibition is dislike (Karahah). If the non-permissibility reaches its minimum degree, it is Karahah.
