Is wiping over medication applied to a wound permissible during ablution?

Wiping over medication applied to a wound is permissible if removing the medication risks causing pain or harm. Imam Ahmad explicitly stated this ruling. If a person fears harm to themselves or the wound by removing the medicine, wiping over it during ablution is mandated.
