Primary text

There are two established narrations regarding a woman touching her own private part. The position that it nullifies Wudu is supported by the general command "Whoever touches his private part should perform Wudu," and a specific narration from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb on the authority of the Prophet, peace be upon him, stating: "Any woman who touches her private part should perform Wudu." Furthermore, since she is a human whose private part was touched, her Wudu is nullified, similar to a man.

Supporting text

The opposing view states that her Wudu is not nullified. This is because the famous Hadith concerns the male organ, and touching a woman's private part is not considered in the same category as it does not lead to discharge. The authenticity of the narration specific to women is questioned.
