Primary text

If a woman touches a man and desire is present in both, the apparent reading of Khirqi's text suggests nullification of both ablutions due to the meeting of their skins. Ahmad expressed that he had not heard specifics regarding a woman touching her husband, but considered her equivalent to a man, finding it desirable that she perform Wudu because she is one of the two parties involved in the 'touching.' The person whose skin was touched has their ablution nullified if desire is present, as anything nullifying upon meeting of skins does not differentiate between the toucher and the touched, similar to the meeting of circumcised parts (Khitanayn).

Supporting text

There is a second narration that the ablution of the woman and the touched person is not nullified. The justification for non-nullification is that the text specifically mentions the nullification by men touching women, thereby restricting it to the man as the toucher, similar to touching the private parts. There is no explicit text or analogy regarding the woman or the touched person, as the man's touch with desire implies the likely emission of Madhi, which is nullifying, a factor not necessarily present in the woman. Furthermore, the desire of the toucher is more intense and likely to lead to emission than that of the touched, making analogy inappropriate. Where text and analogy fail, proof does not stand.
