Is Wudu invalidated if a wound is on one or both feet and the person performs Tayammum for it, followed by the prayer time expiring?
Chapter on Tayammum
Al-Mughni
Book of Purification
Primary text
For the opinion that does not mandate sequence between Wudu and Tayammum, continuity (Muwalah) between them is also not obligatory. The person only needs to perform Tayammum. For the opinion that mandates sequence, there are two views regarding continuity between Wudu and Tayammum, mirroring the two narrations regarding continuity within Wudu itself. The first narration suggests continuity is obligatory, meaning it must be observed between Wudu and Tayammum, causing the Wudu to be void if missed.

The second narration suggests continuity is not obligatory, meaning Tayammum alone suffices. Alternatively, it is reasoned that continuity between Wudu and Tayammum is not obligatory under a single view because they are two distinct acts of purification, and continuity is not required between other acts of purification. Furthermore, mandating continuity would impose hardship, which is negated by the verse: {And He has not placed upon you any difficulty in religion} (Quran 22:78).
