What constitutes the second type of shooting contest?

Primary text
The second type is Al-Mufadalah or Al-Muhata (outstripping or cancellation), where the winner is determined by whoever exceeds the other by one, two, or three hits out of twenty throws. Hits that are equal between contestants are cancelled (Muhat). Completing the throws is generally required if it yields a benefit. If the required difference (e.g., three hits) is achieved before the full twenty throws, the contest may end early if further throws offer no possibility of overturning the lead. For instance, if the required lead is three hits, and one contestant hits twelve out of twelve throws while the other misses all, the lead stands even if the remaining eight throws would only allow the second contestant to reach an eight-hit deficit, which is less than the required three-hit lead.

If the lead difference can be overturned or secured by completing the remaining throws, completion is mandatory. However, if the lead is five hits or more out of twenty, completing the remaining throws is not necessary because the opponent's maximum possible hits (the remaining two throws) cannot eliminate the existing lead of three or more hits.
