Primary text
If a person states, 'Whoever precedes receives ten, and whoever prays receives five,' and five precede while five others pray, according to the first interpretation, the predecessors receive ten in total (two dirhams each), and the ones who prayed receive five (one dirham each).
Supporting text
According to the second interpretation, each predecessor receives the full ten (totaling fifty), and each person who prayed receives five (totaling twenty-five). Furthermore, the first view might be invalidated because it allows for scenarios, such as nine preceding for the ten (receiving one-ninth each) while one prays for five, resulting in the praying person receiving more than the predecessors, thus defeating the intent of the agreement.
