Scholars unanimously agree that a free man who divorces his free wife less than three times, without compensation, and without a condition necessitating final separation, retains the right to revoke the divorce ('Raj'a') as long as she remains within her waiting period ('Iddah'). The right to revocation ceases once her waiting period concludes.
