Whose statement is accepted if the slave woman confirms her husband's claim of revocation during the waiting period, but her master denies it?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Reconciliation (Return During 'Iddah)
Primary text
If the slave woman confirms her husband's claim of revocation, but her master denies it, her confirmation is not accepted. This is because the master's right is attached to her, and she became permissible (to him) upon the expiry of her waiting period. Therefore, her statement cannot be accepted to nullify his right, similar to a woman who remarries and then admits that her former husband had revoked the divorce. Accepting her denial of the revocation does not necessitate accepting her confirmation of it, as seen in the case of a woman who remarries, where her denial is accepted but her confirmation is not.
Supporting text
If the master becomes aware that the husband is truthful in his claim of revocation, it is not permissible for the master to have sexual relations with her or marry her to another. If the slave woman becomes aware that the husband is truthful in his claim of revocation, she becomes forbidden to her master. It is not permissible for her to allow the master sexual access unless she is coerced, just as before her divorce.
