It is impermissible for anyone to revoke or alter an area protected (*Hima*) by the Prophet, peace be upon him, while the need for that protection persists. Whoever revives such protected land acquires no ownership over it. The ruling regarding revocation when the need ceases involves two scholarly opinions. The established principle is that the Prophet's protection is binding and cannot be negated while necessity dictates its continuation.
