If the seated person restricts the movement of passersby, it is unlawful for them to remain seated there, and the Imam is not permitted to allow them to remain, whether for compensation or otherwise. Ahmad stated that it was inappropriate for them (the jurists/community) to buy from those who sell along the road.

The statement regarding the prohibition of buying from sellers on the road is interpreted to mean this applies when the road is narrow or when the seller causes annoyance to passersby.
