Primary text
For a dwelling, revitalization requires building walls according to custom and roofing it, as it is not habitable without these features. For an animal pen, it requires a customary wall; roofing is not a condition. For cultivation, revitalization involves preparing the land for sowing, which may mean channeling water, removing stones, or clearing trees and roots, depending on the land type. Stopping excessive water from fields (for low-lying areas) is also considered revitalization, as it makes the land viable for use without constant annual repetition.

Digging a trench, surrounding land with thorns, or setting up a temporary tent or yurt does not constitute revitalization. Furthermore, plowing, planting, or installing doors on a house are not considered part of the initial act of revitalization necessary for claiming ownership.
