Is an animal with torn or punctured ears permissible for sacrifice (Udhiyah)?

Primary text
It is disliked to sacrifice an animal with a split ear (sharqa') or a perforated ear (kharqa'), or any part of its ear having been cut. This ruling is based on the narration from Ali, peace be upon him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded them not to sacrifice an animal that was muqabalah (ear tip cut), mudabarah (rear part of the ear cut), kharqaa' (perforated), or sharqaa' (split ear). This prohibition is one of discouragement (tanzih), and the sacrifice is still valid and counts as fulfilling the obligation. This position is followed because stipulating complete freedom from such defects would cause undue hardship, as it is difficult to find animals entirely free from them.
