Primary text
There is no disagreement that benefiting from its skins and coverings is permissible because it is a part of the sacrifice, thus the offeror may benefit from it, just like the meat. 'Alqamah and Masruq used to tan their sacrificial skins and pray upon them. 'A'ishah narrated that the prohibition against keeping the meat past three days was specific to times of need ('al-daffah').
