The intention (Niyyah) is sufficient for validity. However, it is good practice to state the name of the person for whom the sacrifice is being made, based on the narrated traditions.
Supporting text
The school of opinion represented by 'Ahl al-Ra'i' disliked the practice of naming the beneficiary during the slaughter, contrary to the practice mentioned above.
