When congratulating someone on the birth of a son, the proper phrase to use is: 'May there be blessing in the gifted one, may the Giver be thanked, may he reach maturity, and may you be blessed with his righteousness' (Baraka fi al-mawhub, wa shakara al-wahib, wa balagha ashuddahu, wa ruziqta birrahu). This supplants using presumptive titles like 'horseman' (Faris).
