Bearing witness is not recommended for transactions involving items of little monetary value, such as the common needs dealt with by grocers and perfumers. This exclusion applies because such contracts occur frequently, making it difficult and burdensome to require formal witnessing or subsequent litigation to prove them, unlike transactions of high value.
