Who bears the risk of loss, damage, or defect for a purchased item after receipt, provided it is not measured by volume or weight?
Chapter on the Option of the Two Parties in Sale

Primary text
The risk of loss, damage, or defect for the purchased item rests upon the buyer after he takes possession, provided the item is not one sold by measure (mukyul) or weight (mawzoun). If the item perishes, diminishes, or incurs a defect during the option period, it is the buyer's liability because ownership has transferred to him, and any benefit derived from it belongs to him. This mirrors the situation after the option period expires, and the buyer is responsible for its expenses.
