Primary text
If a defect is discovered, the buyer has the choice to return the item and reclaim the full purchase price, based on the principle that 'the yield/profit belongs to the guarantor (Khiraj bil Dhaman).' Acts like sexual intercourse (Wati') are considered equivalent to service (Khadamah) in generating such yield. Alternatively, the buyer may keep the item and receive compensation equivalent to the difference in value between the sound item and the defective item.
