Primary text

A narration conveyed by Ibn al-Mundhir from Ahmad and Ishaq prohibits forward sale in pomegranates, quince, melons, cucumbers, and cucumbers because they cannot be measured by volume or weight, and their size varies between small and large.

Supporting text

A differing opinion permits Salam in these items, provided they can be reasonably controlled by size or weight, which is the basis for permitting Salam in cultivated crops.
