What happens if the stipulated service in a sale becomes impossible due to the destruction of the sold item before completion?

If the performance of the stipulated service becomes impossible because the sold item perishes before the service is rendered, or if the seller dies, the sale contract is terminated. The buyer is then entitled to receive compensation equivalent to the value of that service from the seller's estate.
