Keeping a hunting dog is permissible even if the owner temporarily stops hunting, provided the intention to return to hunting remains. This is because complete avoidance of this situation is unavoidable. Similarly, if the owner of a crop holds onto the dog until sowing the next crop after harvesting, it is permissible. If livestock dies, and the owner intends to buy new ones, keeping the dog for the benefit of future livestock is allowed.
