Is it valid for a buyer to give more currency than the agreed price and appoint the seller as an agent for the excess?

If one purchases silver for one and a half Dinars and gives the seller two Dinars, stating that the seller is his agent for the extra half Dinar, the transaction is valid. This falls under the permissibility established by Imam Ahmad concerning similar scenarios.
