Primary text

If an animal is stipulated to be barren (ha'il) but is found pregnant, this constitutes a defect in a female slave, establishing the option for rescission. If the animal is not a slave, it is considered an increase, which does not typically warrant rescission, though an option might exist if the pregnancy prevents the buyer from achieving their purpose, such as travel or carrying something.
