Primary text

It is not permissible to exchange one item for another of the same type, nor is it permissible to exchange one type for another type when the added substances are intended and integral components, such as meat in Harisa, honey in Faludhaj, or water and oil in Khazira. This prohibition stems from the fact that each item contains a substance not native to its classification, which is intentional. Furthermore, significant variation in these mixtures is common, making true equivalence unattainable. If equality cannot be established within a single type, it is even more impossible between different types.
