Chapter on Selling Assets and Fruits
Al-Mughni
Book of Sales
Primary text
This type of cotton is judged according to the ruling of general crops. If its seeds are weak and moist and have not yet gained strength, it is impermissible to sell it except on the condition of immediate cutting, similar to green crops. If the seeds become strong and hard, it is permissible to sell it on the condition of retention (tabqiyah), similar to grain whose seed has hardened. If the land is sold, this crop is not included unless the buyer stipulates it.
