Is the sale of carrion (Maytah) permissible?

The sale of carrion is impermissible. The people of knowledge have reached a consensus on the prohibition of carrion. Evidence for this prohibition is found in the report from Jabir, who heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) state: "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of wine, carrion, the pig, and idols." This narration is agreed upon (Muttafaq 'alayh).
