Is the sale of a hunting animal (predator/bird of prey) permissible if it is not trained (not Mu'allam)?
Chapter on Selling the Musarrah (Animal with milk retained in udder)
Al-Mughni
Book of Sales
Primary text
If a cheetah, falcon, or similar animal is not trained and incapable of being trained, its sale is impermissible due to the absence of benefit derived from it.
Supporting text
If the animal is capable of being trained, its sale is permissible because its ultimate end is utilization, making it analogous to a young donkey (Jahsh).
