The sale of oils in their containers is permissible if the seller has observed the contents as a whole. This ruling applies because the constituent parts do not differ, rendering it analogous to the sale of a pile of grain (Sabra). This ruling extends to honey, molasses (Dibs), vinegar, and all other non-varying liquids. It is also valid if the sale is stipulated as a fixed price per unit weight (e.g., every ratl for one dirham), if a specific quantity (ratl) is sold, or if a known quantity exceeding the actual amount is sold. Furthermore, selling a fractional share (musha') or parts of the oil, or selling the oil along with the container for a known price, is permissible.
