Primary text
The sale of a pig is impermissible. Scholars have reached a consensus on this prohibition. This ruling is supported by the general consensus among the people of knowledge regarding the prohibition of selling carrion, wine, and pigs. Evidence for this prohibition is found in the report from Jabir, who heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) state in Mecca: "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of wine, carrion, the pig, and idols." This narration is agreed upon (Muttafaq 'alayh).
