Primary text

If the item has increased in value due to natural growth, acquired a separable profit (like offspring or yield), or the acquisition of a skill, the seller must declare the original purchase price without adding the value of the growth. If the separable profit was taken, or if the slave woman was used, or the virgin female slave was consummated, the seller must state the original cost price without detailing the circumstances.

Ibn al-Mundhir narrated from Ahmad that the seller must explain all such enhancements. This is the position of Ishaq. The People of Opinion hold that if the seller takes the yield, it is permissible to sell on murabaha without specifying, but regarding offspring and fruit, disclosure is necessary because they are derivatives of the contract. The established view is that disclosure without mentioning the gain is permissible as long as the statement of the original price is truthful and does not constitute deception.
