Primary text

The statement of the seller is accepted when a mutual rescission of the sale occurs, or when the buyer returns the item due to a defect after the seller has taken possession of the price, and subsequently they dispute the exact amount of the price. This is because the seller is denying what the buyer claims after the contract has been dissolved, making it analogous to a dispute over possession.
