Primary text
When a dispute arises over a raised bank situated between the river of one party and the land of the other, both parties must engage in mutual imprecation (tahaluf). The ruling is that the bank is considered to be situated equally between them. This is because the bank acts as a barrier between their two properties, similar to a wall separating two privately owned properties.
