Primary text

The age determining validity for the *tadbir* of a male minor is ten years and older, based on the Prophet's command to discipline children for prayer from ten years onward. For a female minor, the age considered is nine years and older, based on the report attributed to Aisha, stating that a girl is considered a woman at nine, which is also narrated as a *marfu'* Hadith. This latter age is considered the point where puberty becomes possible and other legal rulings are attached.
